The Abbey 3 Ring French Link Gag is a 3 piece, double jointed horse bit featuring a flat link designed to distribute pressure evenly across the tongue, reducing the "nutcracker" effect on the palate. It is a mild, comfortable option for young or sensitive horses. Despite the name the 3 Ring (or Dutch gag) is not a true Gag. It is designed to offer a snaffle or lever action – and may be used with a curb strap.
A slightly more refined cue may be gained using two reins.
